Best Practices For Presenters

Slides

We can accommodate slide presentations in a couple ways. If you have a written outline of slide points you’d like us to create, we can create those within our main worship presentation software, Proclaim.

We can also play slides made in Microsoft PowerPoint (please use the more modern .pptx format) and Apple Keynote.

We recommend that when designing your slides you consider keeping things simple. Timed animations should be avoided as these often do not translate well to other computers. Also ensure your slides use a font and text size that is readable from a distance, and that a single slide is not over-crowded with text. Simpler is always better.

Our projection system is 720p HD in a widescreen format (16:9 aspect ratio). Please use the widescreen slide setting when initially designing your slides.

Video

Video content is best delivered on a USB Flash Drive, using QuickTime video formats (.mov, .mp4, or .m4v).

We are not able to play Windows Media files (.wmv).

While we are able to play a DVD, it is difficult to run through our presentation software.

Outline

We include a sermon outline on YouVersion’s Bible app through its Events feature. Please consider this constraint when creating your outline for the congregation to follow along.

Ideally, the outline in the app will mirror the major points of a slide presentation.
